Cyber key attachement and holder

Postby Sir Edmund on Tue Feb 05, 2008 4:34 pm

Interesting article in the club mag. Just right for a Challenge newbie like me.

A couple of questions wrt the cyber key -

What bore rubber hose should I use to make a holder like the one in the photo?

When it says a strong attachment point adjacent to the paseneger window, on a series one style machine without door tops does this mean anywhere in the opening above the door? Slighty anal question but then I'm used to ALRC regs!

See you in March,

Cliff

The tip of the CyberKey is 15mm diameter, so anything thereabouts or less should be fine.

The length of CyberKey with its security chain (ie from fixing point to tip) is 20cm so don't put your holder too far from your fixing point

As far as the fixing point location - yes above door level and as close to the inside of the door as possible.

hi im gearing up to do the last event this year,

can i confirm the key and chain is attached to the truck?

so i get it rright.

we need a tube holder for the key and fixing point for the chain?
like a self tapping screw etc. presume that needs to be on the inside of the car newar the door.

any pictures of people set up would be appeciated.

To fix the chain to the vehicle you need a tamperproof mounting point at the left edge of the dash.
Ideally an eye-bolt or similar.
A self-tapping screw is NOT tamperproof.
The holder is just a suggestion to keep the tip of your Cyberkey clean and stop the key getting trapped in the door1
